Timothy Engels

Biography

 

Tim Engels, M.A., has been a coach, counselor and consultant for more than thirty years, using his own rich background of experience to help his various clients.

 

Tim is a counselor and sports psychology consultant in Denver, CO.  He has worked with over 1,500 clients helping them resolve traumatic personal histories, changing their beliefs to support thriving, achieving goals and creating new and exciting visions for their lives.  He is a certified NLP Master Practitioner and holds a master's degree in Sports Sciences from the University of Denver.

 

Having worked with Dr. Ron and Kate O'Brien Minson at The Center for InnerChange for seven years, Tim is a Certified iLs Advanced Practitioner.  He uses the iLs Total Focus system in his practice, consults on program development for Total Focus programs, and rents and sells iLs products, including the Total Focus and Interactive Language programs.  He has been working with children and adults challenged by a variety of learning, sensory processing, and neuro-developmental difficulties for the past 15 years.


He is the author of FundaMENTAL Golf and InnerChanging, a personal growth seminar.  Tim’s training in NLP, Health Kinesiology, Brain Gym, EFT, EMDR and Psych-K and the use of these modalities in his counseling practice during the past twenty years led him to develop InnerChanging, which uses the best of these powerful change agents.


Having competed on the professional circuit in tennis and having been a college/state competitor in golf, Tim’s sports psychology practice includes Olympic and professional athletes and a number of promising high school athletes.  They compete in many sports including cycling, swimming, figure skating, volleyball, golf and tennis.  Tim is the sports psychology consultant to Mile High Multisport, www.milehighmultisport.com. He links and applies his leadership consulting by coaching the coaches of aspiring athletes at Front Range Volleyball Club, www.frvbc.com, in Denver, CO.

 

As a business consultant, he worked with Johns-Manville for ten years on health promotion and organizational development issues while the company went through bankruptcy and several reorganizations.  As Deputy Manager of Recreation for the City of Denver, he developed a city-wide community recreation initiative resulting in the passage of a $61 million bond issue, the largest ever in the country for a parks and recreation department.  Tim has worked with a wide range of clients from healthcare, manufacturing, high tech and insurance industries, public agencies and not-for-profits.  He has provided coaching and training in executive assessment, team building, stress management, wellness programs as well as organizational and strategic planning.
